Pea Ridge

Today we visited the National Historic Site of Pea Ridge near Garfield, Arkansas. It was an enjoyable tour. We watched a movie, visited the museum then took the driving tour of the site. At the Elkhorn Tavern, there was a volunteer interpreter who told us about the site and the aspects of the Civil War Battle there. He was a retired geology professor and we listened to him for about 1 1/2 hours. He was able to give the facts in a very interesting way. (Also enjoyed the company of his dog -- a Chihuahua / dachshund mix.)

You can learn more at the National Park Service website for Pea Ridge.

Passion Play

We spent another day sightseeing around Eureka Springs. Yesterday we toured the Passion Play area, visiting the Christ of the Ozarks. Last night we saw the Passion Play. We had seen it in 1994 and enjoyed it. This performance was even more moving. Also enjoyed listening to the Parables of the Potter.

Today we will be seeing Quigley Castle and some of the countryside.

Eureka Springs

We're spending the Memorial Day holiday visiting the Ozarks. Our first stop was Branson. We had not been there for quite some time -- 1988?? The city has really grown since then. We went to two shows. Both were good.

Now we are in Eureka Springs. We met up with two other couples and have been enjoying the visit. Today we took the trolley and toured the downtown historic area and shopping. We also took the trolley to the Thorncrown Chapel. It is so peaceful and majestic.

States We've Visited

Our nephew tipped us off to a website that creates a map of states or countries visited. I've always wanted a map for our RV travels and this lets me do it without plastering one on the side of our rig.
At this point, our RV travels have taken us to these states. Hope to have quite a few more added soon.

Yard Work

We have spent most of our time working in the yard since we got home. We've thrown in a couple of weekend camp outs with the Working Sams, family activities, jury duty for me and graduation celebrations. Having a great spring. Getting the itch to travel soon.
