We awoke at 2:30 am to pack up and hitch up to drive 15 miles to North Sidney NW. It was very exciting as we had never been on an ocean ferry before – let alone loaded the RV into the belly of the vessel! It took a long time to load and the ferry departed around 7am. Our Ferry destination was Argentia Newfoundland.
It was a relatively smooth ferry ride. We had a cabin and took advantage of it for some napping to make up for the lost sleep last night.
The ferry had a nice cafeteria, gift shop and pub. Lots of deck and lounge area for resting or watching the ocean – no whales or icebergs. We arrived in port about 10pm and the group caravanned about 5 miles to overnight in a school parking lot – no set-up, just dropped into bed!
Here is our caravan parked in the schoolyard after our ferry ride.
