Walt has mulled over changes to our Florida lot since we were last here in March 2006.
He finally came up with a plan to give us more space. The original concrete pad did not cover the entire lot -- they left about 4 foot of gravel on each side.
Yesterday he and Paul (with kind help from several others in the park) dug out the gravel on the west side of the lot (our door side).
A pallet of pavers was set into sand and will give us a nice extension of our patio space.
Fine sand is used for fill and a border of concrete helps keep the pavers from shifting.
The pavers do not butt to the next lot because their pad is about 6 inches higher than ours. This leaves a nice area for me to plant some low shrubs and tropical plants -- they will have to be hardy since we will only be maintaining them in the winter.
Did you notice that the men are wearing coats? Yes, it is cold. Low last night was 34 degrees. It has warmed to 50 but a NE wind makes it feel much colder. Should be back to the 70's by Saturday.

Will that pad hold a 1991 Wilderness Camper?

It's a SPACIOUS 30' X 50' lot. No problem!
Walter, you're working too hard there buddy? 34 degrees? Almost too cold to drink beer?
