We made it to Cabo San Lucas yesterday afternoon.
The ferry ride was good and we had comfy cabins to sleep & shower in. It was a long process getting unloaded from the ferry in La Paz in the morning. An even longer process trying to get vehicles cleared by customs (not sure that was ever resolved correctly!).
Then we had the fruit inspection (mainly apples & oranges). Three times they asked us but never asked to search.
Then we had the military inspection -- looking for drugs & weapons. They did go through all the compartments in the truck. They did not unscrew headlights, tail lights as they did from the commercial vehicles. One inspector did ask me to take him into the RV but he was really more interested in what it looked like, than really searching it.
After passing all those inspections, we proceeded to the agriculture station where they sprayed the under-side of the rig for fruit flys.
Finally we were on our way. Only had to drive 110 miles but had to take the western route as the eastern route was destroyed by Hurricane Paul in October. Got our first glimpse of the Pacific coastline.
Life is good here -- will explore Cabo today.
