DIVISADERO, CHIHUAHUA, Mexico -- On the Train. Piggyback train ride over the top of the Sierra Madres. Covered 35.8 miles. Most of the trip at 13 mph.
This afternoon we had a scenic bus trip to the top of the canyon.
At every stop, there were baskets, blankets & copper bracelets for sale.
There are actually 3 canyons here -- the Copper Canyon being the deepest.
After the bus trip we were able to sign up to use showers at the hotel. It was nice to have some room to move around and plenty of hot water. What a treat.
We crossed the Continental Divide today and were 8,071 feet at the highest point on our rail trip today.
We had Happy Hour at the hotel (owned by the family that owns Dona Caroline - see 1-18).
It gets dark very early here. And it is VERY dark. Here we are turning in at 7:30pm!
