Los Mochis

After unloading from the train, we drove 11 miles to the RV park where we will spend the night. We had time to set up and have some lunch before the bus picked us up for a tour into Los Mochis.

We learned that Los Mochis was started in the 1800’s by an American named Johnston to produce sugar cane and refine it. There are still many sugar cane fields around the city.

We got to spend a few hours at the Mercado. We enjoyed the colorful crowds.

Then the group met at Hotel Santa Anita where we had a lovely shrimp dinner.

We learned that the Tracks caravan scheduled to leave El Paso today had been delayed by 5” of snow!!!

5 inches of snow in El Paso is a lot of snow. That's a pretty big deal!
