Hope is an old mining town along the coast of Turnagain Arm of Cook Inlet. Five families live in the historic district. There are 150 people who call Hope their home. They only have 6 children in their school and they need 10 for it to continue. It is so far from other schools that the alternatives are a home school or sending the children to board elsewhere for school.
We enjoyed seeing the bay and Resurrection Creek. There were some fishermen at the creek where the pinks (Pink Humpback Salmon) are running.
We enjoyed the historic log cabins. The first photo shows the cotton from the cottonwoods drifted along the street. It was thick in the air too.
There was a nice art gallery in town and we also visited the library book shop and local craft shop.
