Miles Canyon

Today we visited the Transportation Museum. It was very interesting. Told about how the Alaska Highway was built and the vehicles used for transportation in the Yukon. It was neat to see some of the old machinery used to build the road. There were also planes, train cars, a work crew bus and sleds. The guided tour was great and there were several different films of building the highway and living in the Yukon.

We drove to Miles Canyon. It is a beautiful canyon along the Yukon River. The river is used to produce hydroelectricity for this area so it is a deep fast-moving river.

There is a suspension footbridge over the canyon. It's an awesome view from the bridge.

Just down river is the airport docks for the seaplanes.
